Welcome to Feel Something. ꩜
Feel Something ꩜ is a publication about recovering from trauma, regulating the nervous system, and how to do that in a world that does not always make it easy to feel safe, connected, and fully alive.
I write for people who are healing from trauma and want to not only understand themselves, but actually feel something different.
Because healing is never going to happen through insight alone.
It happens when we begin to understand ourselves with more compassion and curiosity instead of judgment and shame. When we learn that our reactions and responses make sense in the context of what we’ve been through. When we stop trying to heal in isolation. When we create (and begin to welcome in) new corrective experiences that teach our bodies, little by little, that it is over now.
That’s what you’ll find here.
Every week, I will send you an essay that lands in one of these categories:
In Here = the essays where it gets personal
Out There = reflections on trauma, culture, and why we are the way we are
For You = trauma-informed practices and resources
But to put it simply, I write so you feel a little more seen, a little less alone, and a little more okay.
If you’re new here...
I’d recommend starting with:
꩜ Do we need to reparent ourselves or reparent each other? (if you’re curious about relational healing and what that means)
꩜ I am so incredibly happy and so incredibly sad (if you’re learning how to feel without drowning in your feelings)
꩜ “You teach yoga in a jail? Why would you want to do that?” (if you want to learn more about embodying trauma-informed care)
꩜ You can’t heal if your basic needs are not being met !! (if you’re looking for an interactive resource to start understanding and regulating your nervous system)
Hi, I’m Francesca.
I am a clinical social work student, trauma-informed yoga facilitator, and fellow human being trying to make sense of this life while living it.
I am currently in graduate school for social work with an intense focus on trauma-informed care. I am deep into 900 internship hours and all of the questions that come up while learning how to sit with people in pain. I have also been teaching yoga for the past five years across studios, gyms, jails, recovery centers, and crisis centers.
So yes, my writing is shaped by my clinical training.
But just as much, it is shaped by my lived experience.
I started Feel Something because I got tired of how flat so much of healing content feels.
Too much of it sounds “good.” Or easy. Too much of it gives you language without giving you depth. Too much of it helps you explain your pain without actually helping you feel it.
I believe very deeply in somatic healing, relational healing, and the power of new corrective experiences with ourselves and with each other. I believe that sometimes, the best therapy happens outside of therapy, through living. I believe that healing is not just about insight. It is about being witnessed. It is about creating internal and external safety. And sometimes it is about finally eating nourishing food, drinking water, going outside, and getting some restorative sleep. Sometimes it is about letting yourself feel what you have spent years trying to outrun.
If any of that resonates, you are in the right place.

One new member-only resource every month
Check out the step-by-step interactive nervous system healing guide
I created the member space because I know how easy it is to consume content about healing without ever integrating it.
I wanted to build something that offered more than just… more information. Because we are drowning in an overload of information.
I don’t want that here.
I just want you to feel something. ꩜
